OUR PROJECTS

Introducing The Wildlife Protection Foundation -
Working with Communities and Species all over the world!

In 1993, David S Gill had a desire to raise public awareness of these issues and so he created South Lakes Wild Animal Park. He hoped that by creating a park, where visitors can experience a unique close up encounter with wild and endangered animals, he would be able to raise awareness and generate income, which would facilitate worldwide animal conservation. 15 years later he has done just that and now through our 2 charities - The Sumatran Tiger Trust and The Wildlife Protection Foundation we fund conservation projects all over the world.

These projects do not simply protect the endangered animals and their habitats. We also work with the local communities to improve their quality of life, which in turn gains their invaluable support. The charity is based within South Lakes Wild Animal Park and the park underwrites all the administration costs of running the charity to ensure that 100% of any money donated is spent on wildlife conservation.

Founded in 2006 the foundation currently supports these projects.
