Chaparri to celebrate 10th Birthday

On October 30th it is 10 years since the first community meeting about conservation at Santa Catalina de Chongoyape. In November there is the 3rd congress of protected areas of Peru in Chiclayo (24th to 27th November).

We have decided this would be a good opportunity to celebrate, promote and review what has gone on in Chaparri during the last 10 years and are planning an event in Chaparri on Monday the 23rd of November with people arriving from Sunday the 22nd.  There will be a session of presentations , words from dignitaries and VIP guests, walks with local guides, a slideshow of the progress, and a discussion of the experience with a view to the next 10 years, all accompanied by fine local food from the community etc.

We are printing invitations etc. and will be sending those out soon along with the programme but we wanted to give you The Wildlife Protection and South Lakes WIld Animal Park some advance warning as we very much hope you will be able to attend the event as the projects longest and most important supporters and donors.
